If you need to view a detailed log of Recuva's activities for troubleshooting then you can run the software in debug mode.
When you choose to run Recuva in debug mode, it creates a log file in the Recvua install folder.
To run Recuva in debug mode:
- From the Windows desktop, click Start (in Windows 7) or right-click Start (in newer versions of Windows), then click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, type <path to Recuva> /debug. Typically, this will be:
"C:\Program Files\Recuva\Recuva.exe" /debug
- Click OK. Recuva starts in debug mode. You will see the word [debug] next to the version number at the top of the program window.
- Once you have finished using Recuva as usual and have quit the program, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the installation path (the same path you typed in Step 2). The log file will be in this folder in the format: Recuva_log[date].txt.
