Why does CCleaner report anonymous usage data?

The statistical data that CCleaner can report to us helps us make decisions about how we develop the app, so we can improve the quality of the PC cleaning and utility services that we provide to you. For example, having statistics about the features that are and aren’t being used within CCleaner means we can develop CCleaner’s interface to make the features that you’re using more accessible, which would improve your user experience. It also helps us to develop new features that we think you’ll like using.

Please note that CCleaner can only report anonymous, aggregated, statistical usage data about itself or its use and it doesn’t report any data about interactions with other applications on your computer. It also doesn’t report any personal data.

You can choose whether you’d like CCleaner to report anonymous data in CCleaner’s ‘Privacy’ tab.
