Configuring the CCleaner Network Management Service

Changing the database details

By default, CCleaner Network installs with a SQLite database. You can change the database, its location, or its type (CCleaner Network supports SQLite and MSSQL).

Note: Be sure to stop the Management Service before changing the network database.

  1. Create a new SQLite or MSSQL database that will hold the CCleaner Network records.
  2. In the Management Service configuration tool, stop the CCleaner Network service by selecting CCN Stop Button.
  3. Select Actions > Change Data Storage.
  4. In the Database Type box, select SQLite or MSSQL.
  5. Fill out the boxes on the Change Data Storage property sheet.CCN - Changing the CCN Database
  6. Select Test Connection.
  7. If the connection is valid, select Save.
  8. Restart the CCleaner Network Management Service by selecting CCN Start Button

You can change a password using the Management Service configuration tool.

Entering or changing a password for the Management Service

  1. In the Management Service configuration tool, select Actions > Change Data Storage.
  2. Type in a new password in the Service password box, then type it again in the Repeat password box. The password must be at least 6 characters long.
  3. Select Save. You will be asked to restart the service. Select Yes.

By default, the Management Service runs on port 10269. If this port usage conflicts with other software, you can change it from the Management Service configuration tool.

Changing the port used by the Management Service

  1. In the Management Service configuration tool, select Actions > Change Port.
  2. Type a port number between 1 and 65536 in the Port box, and then select Save.
  3. You will be asked to restart the service. Select Yes.

Exporting a copy of the CCleaner Network database

You can use the Management Service configuration tool to import and export compatible databases for backup purposes. Import and export functions use the .SQL format.

WARNING: Do not attempt to import databases created by other software.

  1. In the Management Service Configuration tool, select Actions > Export Database.
  2. A dialog box appears stating that before exporting, the Management Service will be stopped. Select Yes.
  3. In the Save As dialog box, select the folder and type a file name for the database, and then select Save.
  4. Once the export is complete, select Close.

Importing a copy of the CCleaner Network database

  1. In the Management Service Configuration tool, select Actions > Import Database.
  2. A dialog box appears stating that importing data may overwrite existing data. Select Yes.
  3. In the Open dialog box, select the .SQL file, and then select Open.
  4. Once the import is complete, select Close. The Management Service will restart.
