How can I find out which websites are attempting to track me?

Open the main Kamo dashboard, hover your cursor over the graph icon at the bottom of the screen, then select ‘See All Reports’. The following information is available:

  • Recent activity: discover the time and date of recent tracking attempts, as well as the websites that attempted to track you
  • Top tracking attempts: check which websites have attempted to track you most frequently since you installed Kamo

Graphs at the top of the screen show the fluctuation in blocked tracking attempts over the past week and the past 6 months. Hover your cursor over the red dot above a specific month or day to see how many tracking attempts have been blocked.

How do I protect my browser with Kamo?

Kamo automatically protects your online privacy on the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft edge
  • Internet Explorer
  • Opera

If you are running Firefox, Kamo will detect it and ask you to install an extension. If you skip this step or need to install the extension later, follow the instructions in the following article. See here.

It is not possible to install and enable the Kamo browser extension on any other browser.

Note: CCleaner Browser is not currently supported, as this functionality is already built into CCleaner Browser’s Security & Privacy Center as ‘Anti-Fingerprinting’.

How do I install the Kamo extension on Mozilla Firefox?

If you use Firefox, you need to install the Kamo extension so you can use our app.

To do this, follow these quick and easy steps:

  1.   Open the ‘Kamo’ user interface and select ‘Check It Out’ in the Browser protection section
  2.   Next to Mozilla Firefox, click the ‘OFF’ slider so that it changes to ‘ON’. Your Mozilla Firefox browser launches automatically.
  3.   Click ‘Extensions’, then ‘Enable’
  4.   Return to the Kamo interface and click ‘Done’ in the Mozilla Firefox tutorial

Kamo is now installed on your Mozilla Firefox browser.

What is a Privacy Score?

Privacy Score is a numerical value that Kamo assigns to you based on the various settings you enable or disable in the application. The more privacy protection components you have enabled, the higher your score. If you see a yellow or a red number, it means you have a medium or low Privacy Score.

Note: High levels of privacy protection can sometimes affect how websites work, so maximizing your Privacy Score, while clearly useful, isn’t always desirable in every situation.

How can I clear cookies?

You can configure Kamo to clear cookies from your internet browsers automatically by following the steps below:

  1. Double-click the Kamo icon on your desktop, or on your Windows taskbar, to open the user interface
  2. Click the ‘Browser cleanup schedule’ tile
  3. Click ‘Clear Data’ for the chosen browser
  4. Check ‘Web Cookies’ and any other desired data; if desired, you may use the ‘Save these settings’ option to remember these settings for the future
  5. Click ‘Clear Selected’

Note: To clear cookies from a selected browser, you need to close it first. If the browser is open at a time when you’ve scheduled the cookies to be cleared, you will see a pop-up that asks you to close the selected browser.

How can I clear browsing data?

To clear browsing data from your internet browsers:

  2. Click the ‘Browser cleanup schedule’ tile
  3. Click ‘Clear Data’ for the chosen browser

How can I ensure that Kamo does not clear cookies from a particular website?

  1. Open the main Kamo dashboard
  2. Click the ‘Whitelisted websites tile, then choose one of the following options:
    1. Select a website from the ‘Choose From Popular Options’ drop-down menu. The website instantly appears in your Whitelisted websites.
    2. If you do not see the website you want to add, enter its URL (for example, www.example.com) into the left text box, then click ‘Add’. The website appears in your Whitelisted websites.

The websites you select appear on the Cookie Whitelist.

To remove a site from the Whitelist, go to the Whitelisted websites screen, select a website and click the trash (or bin) icon displayed on the right.
